Tourism Minister Stuart Nash has earmarked $200 million for hard-hit tourism communities to help the industry recover from the covid-19 pandemic and prepare for a new normal with fewer international visitors.That includes $15m for a fundamental change at the UNESCO world heritage site Milford Sound, which Nash said can’t return to its pre-covid state where 870,000 visitors per year were undermining the cultural and environmental values of the place, and stretching the national park’s infrastructure.“Transformation is needed to...
