Expensive solar solution to cut Parliament's emissions

Parliament is spending about 19-times the cost of carbon to reduce emissions from its lighting.Speaker Trevor Mallard said the Parliamentary Service will spend $2.26 million to install LED lighting throughout the buildings and solar panels on the roof of Parliament House.Combined, that will reduce Parliament’s annual emissions by about 169 tonnes of CO2 annually, he said in a statement.
