The government plans to change the law to make it easier to approve overseas building products for the New Zealand market.Building and construction minister Chris Penk said he would amend the Building Act as it was “almost impossible” to use new building products without facing huge delays.He said some approval pathways took up to two years before a new product was recognised for use.During the election campaign, National had promised to introduce the legislation in its first 100 days in office, but it wasn’t included in the c...
