The government has announced a ‘green list’ of occupations eligible for fast-tracked residency visas.Two other big announcements made on Wednesday, as part of its immigration ‘rebalance’, were transition plans for sectors that have been reliant on lower-paid migrants and new rules for post-study work rights for international students.The green list has a ‘straight to residency’ pathway enabling highly-skilled migrants to arrive from July 4 and apply for residency in September and includes occupations such as...
