Fonterra says 'whole milk bucket' now delivering; powder price up 50%

The strong recovery in skim milk powder prices has more than offset weaker prices for milk fat and helped Fonterra Cooperative generate good returns from the whole milk bucket, says chief executive Miles Hurrell. Over the past year, skim milk powder prices have climbed 50 percent to US$3,068 per tonne at Global Dairy Trade auctions, while whole milk powder prices are up 24.6 percent over the past year at U$3,331/tonne.
