Silver Fern Farms has offered to be “constructively involved” as its rival Alliance Group works its way through a capital raise.Alliance confirmed on Friday it would shut its Smithfield site in Timaru, a move widely expected given its announcement of the proposal to do so in September.The farmer-owned processor blamed declining sheep numbers.
