Barfoot & Thompson has snapped up a strategic 50% equity stake in Hamilton-based Lodge Real Estate, as the realtor looks to diversify and wean itself off the Auckland market.No value was disclosed for the purchase, which follows shareholder David Couch’s decision to exit the Lodge business after 52 years of helping build it into one of Waikato's biggest real estate firms.Lodge managing director, Jeremy O’Rourke, who has been with the business for 25 years, will keep his half stake and stay on in his present role.Barfoot'...
