Amendments to the Overseas Investment Act will be a key part of streamlining the consent pathway for build-to-rent developments, according to housing and associate finance minister Chris Bishop.Bishop announced on Thursday that cabinet had agreed to make changes to a complex law that was "holding the build-to-rent sector back".He said while the government would retain the ban on overseas investment into existing residential housing and land, changes were needed to assist with adding to housing supply.Build-to-rent (BTR), a form of ren...
