House price inflation steady at 30% in June

House price inflation held steady in June at 30% although the Real Estate Institute's house price index ticked up, as did the number of houses sold.The national index rose to 3,844 points from 3,812 in May and the 7,345 homes sold in June were up 4.9% from May in seasonally adjusted terms and up 6.2% from June.The institute said that's the highest number of houses sold in the month of June for five years."House price rises have continued to defy expectations," said Jen Baird, the institute's chief executive.Prices reached...
