The National party has written to housing minister Megan Woods asking her to take up a bill removing barriers to purpose-built rental developments.Hard on the heels of the jointly sponsored housing supply bill, unveiled last week, National MP Nicola Willis wants Woods to accept her build-to-rent (BTR) member’s bill as a matter of public business.Willis said the bill aims to “unlock investment in purpose-built rental housing in New Zealand”.Specifically, National wants BTR exempt from some aspects of the Overseas Investment Act...
