Briscoe Group managing director Rod Duke doesn’t expect to announce job losses in what he anticipates will be a difficult year for retailers.Duke said the retailer’s strong balance sheet - $67.4 million in cash – will help it ride out the impact of the global pandemic that could drive up costs as staff take sick leave.“We can withstand a bit more pressure and uncertainty than many other retailers can,” he told BusinessDesk.Despite business confidence falling and banks starting to predict a recession, Duke doesn’t see job losses as being likely....
