New Zealand will need to drastically increase renewable electricity generation for the local aviation sector to transition to hydrogen fuel.On Thursday, the NZ Hydrogen Aviation Consortium released a roadmap report showing how NZ could remove up to 900,000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year by 2050 through the use of hydrogen-fuelled aircraft flying domestic routes.The consortium consists of Airbus, Air NZ, Christchurch International Airport (CIAL) Fortescue, Hiringa Energy and Fabrum.To achieve this degree of emission reductions, only sligh...
