Timaru port workers seeking better pay continue to escalate the threat of strike action in the lead up to Christmas.The Rail and Maritime Transport Union (RMTU) issued a seventh strike notice on Monday for a 24-hour stoppage on Dec 22, following notices already issued for the six previous days.Workers have given the union a mandate to issue notices up until Christmas Eve, RMTU South Island organiser John Kerr said.The union has been pushing for a multi-employer collective agreement with PrimePort and Quality Marshalling, a Port of Tauranga-owne...
