Appointment of a Director

The Board of F&C Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce that Stephen Russell will join the Board as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 February 2022. Mr Russell will replace Sarah Arkle who will retire from the Board on 31 January 2022.

Mr Russell is Investment Director and a member of the multi asset investment committee at Ruffer LLP, where he directs its investment strategy across £23bn of assets under management. He joined the firm in 2003 and has managed Ruffer’s flagship pooled funds and developed their institutional pension fund offering into one of the largest multi-asset/absolute return institutional fund managers in the UK. He has been managing and advising pension funds and trustees for almost 30 years, having previously managed segregated pension funds at Sun Life of Canada and then advising pension fund managers as a strategist at HSBC.


Commenting on the appointment, Beatrice Hollond, Chairman, said:

Mr Russell does not own any ordinary shares in the Company.

Mr Russell was a Non-Executive Director of JPMorgan European Investment Trust plc until 15 February 2021. No further information is required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in respect of this appointment.
