EBOS announces opening of new distribution centre in Western Sydney

EBOS Group Limited today announces that its new Symbion pharmacy wholesale distribution centre at Kemps Creek, Sydney, is now fully operational. This represents the successful delivery of our sixth new distribution centre as part of the four-year $360 million distribution centre renewal program.

Located 40 kilometres west of Sydney CBD, the new site has been designed to enhance service efficiency for our customers, expand capacity to support future growth and improve operational efficiency through automation.

The site spans 56,000 square metres, which is the equivalent of eight football fields. With a warehouse capacity size of 30,000 square metres, it is one of the most technologically advanced and automated pharmacy wholesale distribution centres in Australia. The Kemps Creek distribution centre is now servicing approximately 1,500 New South Wales customers, with room for growth. The previous Sydney wholesale centre is being wound down, with closure expected to be completed in FY26.

The Kemps Creek distribution centre has the capacity to generate and store energy onsite via:
- a 1.75MW rooftop solar array;
- 3 x 706kW bio-diesel generators; and
- a 669kW battery.

The rooftop solar array is the largest rooftop solar solution in the EBOS network, reflecting EBOS Group’s ambition to increase contribution from renewable energy sources. The site can also purchase power from an embedded local network for the times when onsite power generation is insufficient. The distribution centre will also seek to reduce waste by utilising returnable / reusable plastic customer totes and recycling 100% of waste cardboard and also harvest rainwater.

With the opening of this site there are only two remaining sites left to deliver as part of the distribution centre renewal program. Following successful completion of the renewal program in FY26, EBOS Group expects future annual capital expenditure to be approximately 30% lower on a comparable basis.

EBOS Group CEO, Adam Hall said: “We are pleased that the hard work of the team has led to our most technologically advanced and automated medicine distribution centre being ready to serve communities across NSW. All customers previously serviced from our long-standing site in Sydney are now receiving deliveries from this distribution centre.”

Authorised for lodgement with NZX and ASX by Adam Hall, CEO, EBOS Group Limited.
