BNZ wins secrecy over employment dispute

The Bank of New Zealand has won continued secrecy over a dispute with former employee Melissa Bowen — for now.Bowen has been described in previous Employment Relations Authority decisions as a whistleblower who alleged she was unjustifiably dismissed from the bank. Previous ERA decisions indicate Bowen’s claim relates to restructuring by the bank in 2016.Her case came before Judge Joanna Holden in the Employment Court at Auckland on Wednesday.While BusinessDesk attended the hearing, BNZ sought interim and permanent suppression order...
