The first train will travel through the City Rail Link overnight on Wednesday, marking a major milestone for the city-shaping project. In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, City Rail Link (CRL) Limited chief executive Patrick Brockie said the test would go ahead pending final checks.The underground tunnel was handed over to KiwiRail for train testing on Wednesday morning and the overhead electric lines inside the tunnel were energised earlier this month.“Safety is the absolute priority,” Brockie said, referring to the tes...
