The new European owners of Whakatāne Mill won’t rule out an initial public offering (IPO) for the mill on either the NZX or ASX – but their immediate focus will be generating profits at the paper packaging operation.The consortium, which includes London's paper and packaging entrepreneur Dermot Smurfit, Swiss-based investor Raymond Dargan and Hobart-based Ian Halliday, emerged as the 11th hour buyers of the carton board mill on Monday.
