Port of Auckland is paying more than 400 staff a bonus for the second year in a row after the company reported an improved operating result.Last week, the Auckland Council-owned port announced its results for the 2024 financial year: underlying operating profit was up 22% to $55.2 million on the back of a record cruise season and improved throughput at the container terminal.While bulk and break-bulk cargoes were down, total container volumes increased from 818,810 twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEU) in 2023 to 844,944 TEU.
