Six people facing criminal charges over donations made to the Labour party appeared in the Auckland district court today.The defendants deny the charges, and have obtained interim name suppression at today’s hearing before judge Brooke Gibson.None of the people are sitting members of Parliament or former officials of the party.The various charges under the Crimes Act include obtaining by deception donations which were not properly disclosed in the Labour party’s annual return.  In particular, the Serious Fraud Office alleges th...
