Businesses could be on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars of holiday pay if the court of appeal rules against Metro Glass in a pivotal employment law case.The Labour Inspectorate accused Metro Performance Glass of under-paying holiday pay by not appropriately recognising its short-term incentive scheme as part of employees’ gross income.The employment court decided in favour of the labour inspector last year, effectively ruling that only a narrow class of bonus payments could be excluded from holiday pay calculations.Metro Glass...
