Another delay for Contact Energy's Tauhara geothermal project

Contact Energy has pushed back the expected date its 174-megawatt Tauhara geothermal plant will come online another six months to the third quarter of 2024, with increased costs of up to $40 million. The geothermal plant was originally due to be commissioned by the end of this year, but in September, that was pushed back to the first quarter of 2024.
