Changes to the Holidays Act 2003 will aim to “increase certainty and reduce complexity”, the government has announced. Minister for workplace relations and safety Brooke van Velden said a draft of the new bill will be released for targeted consultation in September 2024. Highlighting issues for employers that rely on part-time workers, van Velden said the draft bill “will include a proposed approach to pro-rating sick leave, to better reflect how much an employee works”.The new legislation will also propose a c...
