More than $30 million worth of kiwifruit on board a mice-infested ship will be destroyed and turned into biomass.Late last month, Zespri delayed the start of its European sales season after the rodents were detected on board a charter vessel at the port of Zeebrugge in Belgium.Since then, the Kiwifruit marketer has been trying to work out the extent of the impact and possible options for the fruit – “with a focus on exploring opportunities to salvage as much value as possible”, said chief operating officer Jason Te Brake.Rough...
