Countdown is investing $99 million in a new 11,000-square-metre chilled distribution centre outside Christchurch, bringing its national warehousing and chilled storage footprint to 21 hectares.The facility, which will be a sale and leaseback with Mackersy Property on a 30ha site in Rolleston, is being built by contractor Watts and Hughes and will come on stream by 2024. The new centre follows two other major supply chain upgrades, including the recently opened 38,000-square-metre $100m depot in Palmerston North and a 22,000 sqm centre in W...
