The tech world was knocked a little askew when the Commerce Commission (ComCom) blocked a huge exit for local DJ software company Serato.
ComCom said the acquisition by AlphaTheta would reduce competition in their space, but many in the tech sector said the move could frighten startup founders and venture capitalists who are thinking about targeting a lucrative niche.
We're joined by tech entrepreneur Tim Warren and competition law expert Hayden Wilson, partner at Dentons Kensington Swan, who explain the block's pros and cons and what could come next for the deal.
