The prices paid by supermarkets to their suppliers for groceries increased by almost 9% in the year to the end of August.Foodstuffs supermarkets' supplier costs were up by 8.7%, compared with a 7.9% increase in the 12 months to the end of July.That's according to the Infometrics-Foodstuffs New Zealand Grocery Supplier Cost Index (GSCI), which measures the change in the cost of goods supplied to Foodstuffs, owners of New World, PAK'nSAVE and Four Square supermarkets.Previous analysis by Infometrics showed that supplier costs were the...
