The Compass Group has called Pita Pit, a pie shop and a supplier of special dietary meals, to the rescue after multiple failures in the first couple of weeks of its cut-price school lunch programme. It has also quietly released the nutritional contents of its meals, which a registered nutritionist assessed for BusinessDesk as providing about half of the energy children above the age of nine should get in a nutritious lunch.
