Investors' early focus today will be on domestic earnings but the main event for markets will be the government’s decision on whether it will lift current lockdown restrictions in Auckland. Chorus, Freightways and Comvita are due to report this morning. So far, the earnings season has been better than expected which has buoyed sentiment. The S&P/NZX 50 Index rose 1.5 percent Friday, led by Skellerup Holdings after it matched last year's record profit.
