The New Zealand dollar remained capped by conflicting signals on the prospects for progress in the long-running trade talks between the US and China. The kiwi was trading at 64.02 US cents at 8am from 64.08 cents at 5pm. The trade-weighted index was at 70.87 from 70.94.
