WAKE UP NZ: Improving covid-19 numbers spur global rally

Local markets may fare better today after an overnight rally on Wall Street and in Europe was spurred on by signs that the covid-19 outbreak may be near a peak in Italy, Spain and New York. Germany’s Dax added 5.8 percent overnight and the S&P500 was up 7 percent at 8am in Wellington, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 7.7 percent and the Nasdaq advanced 7.3 percent.
