Global dairy prices rocketed overnight. Whole milk powder, which makes up half of the Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction by volume and has the biggest influence on farmgate prices in New Zealand, jumped 6.2% to US$43,74/MT (NZ$7,348).Across the auction, the GDT Price Index ended up 4.6% to US$4,516 per metric tonne (MT).It was the first auction in three weeks and the second-to-last for the NZ dairy season, which ends at the end of May.'Significant gains'NZX dairy analyst Rosalind Crickett said fierce bidding demand saw the auction ta...
