Global dairy prices have held firm despite the threat of tariffs hanging over the market.The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) Index finished flat at an average price of US$4,245 (NZ$7,295) a metric tonne – the first time it had not moved since November 2023.Whole milk powder (WMP), which has the biggest influence on Fonterra’s farmgate milk price and makes up half of the auction by volume, notched up 0.2% to US$4,052/MT.Skim milk powder (SMP), which is the second biggest influence on the dairy giant’s price, slipped 0.4% to US$2,...
