The wool carpet product Kāinga Ora used briefly last year was costing between $200 and $400 extra per home before it was cancelled causing ministerial angst.That’s according to documents released under the Official Information Act, which show the Government landlord changed its position on reopening the tender within three days in late January.Kāinga Ora issued a new Request For Proposal on January 31 after backlash from the industry and ministers about excluding wool, which was in breach of the NZ First and National coalition agreement.T...
