Lactalis named as bidder for Fonterra's $3b consumer business

Lactalis has been named as one of the parties looking to pick up Fonterra Co-operative Group’s consumer business.The French dairy giant was named as a bidder following a filing to the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (ACCC) for an informal review made public on Friday evening.It had long been speculated as a bidder and comes after Bega Group threw its hand up publicly this week.In a notice, ACCC said Lactalis proposed to acquire the co-op consumer business globally and its ingredients and food service operations in Aust...
