Briscoe Group’s managing director Rod Duke is expecting tough times to continue after his company reported “near flat” annual sales. In an unaudited fourth-quarterly sales update for the year to Jan 26, reported to the New Zealand Exchange (NZX) on Tuesday, Briscoe Group said sales were $791.5 million just below the record $792m reported last year. In the 13 weeks to Jan 26, sales rose 1% to $245.3m compared with the final quarter of last year. In an “exceptionally difficult” year for retail, Duke sa...
