Margin recovery initiatives, record sales and an earnings rebound in New Zealand have helped Restaurant Brands to boost its profits. The multinational fast-food restaurant operator said on Thursday that net profit after tax (npat) rose 62.6% to $26.5m in the year to Dec 31. The gain was attributed to record group sales, which jumped 5.4% to $1.39 billion, and margin restoration initiatives.Group earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) grew 8.9% to $194.3m. In a report to investors, chair José...
