Pilots, Air NZ hammer out a deal on redundancies

The New Zealand Air Line Pilots’ Association and Air New Zealand have hammered out a deal that will see 300 pilots made redundant but paves the way for their return. The remaining 900 will take a 30 percent pay cut for the next nine months. "We were very clear with Air New Zealand’s chief executive, Greg Foran, and his executive team from the beginning of this process: If we couldn’t save every job, NZALPA would fight to ensure there was a clear path back to Air New Zealand for our members choosing to return," NZALPA president Andrew Ridling...
